Recent Investigation Shows Metals Founds in Baby Food

Listen up, mom! This is important. A recent national investigation into baby food displayed some startling results. Healthy Babies Bright Futures (HBBF), an alliance of nonprofit organizations, found that 95% of store-bought baby foods tested contained neurotoxins such as arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and lead.

These poisons increase the risk of cancer and are destructive to your developing baby’s brain - and you’re likely feeding them to your tiny tot every day: puffs, teething biscuits, infant rice cereals, mixed fruits and veggies, jars of meat, infant formula, apple juice, and combination meals. But, there is an alternative.

This likely isn’t the first time your baby’s food has been studied. However, this new inquiry produced results that are more startling than ever. The test, which checked for 4 types of heavy metals, used 168 containers from 61 brands. Thirteen different types of food were sampled. Products were from 17 retailers in 14 different metropolitan areas.

Arsenic was found in 73% of the baby foods tested, cadmium in 75%, mercury in 32%, and lead in 94%. A combination of all four was found in 26% of the baby foods tested, while a combination of three was found in 40%.

As a fiercely protective new mom, you should be raising a brow and wondering how this could happen. Unfortunately, babies are exposed to these toxins daily because they linger in our environment. A lot of these heavy metals are rooted in the soils that nurture some of our favorite foods. They also make their way into the ingredients through the machines used to chop, grind, and package the processed snacks and meals. So what can you do?

Making your own homemade baby food is a great alternative and it’s easier than you think. You can make homemade baby food in 1 easy step with the Baby Brezza One Step™ Food Maker Deluxe.
